[Songs in the Night - January 31]
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee. Isaiah 43:2
IN VIEW of the fact that all of the called, chosen,
and faithful must be required to pass through the
school of experience, discipline, and testing with a
view to their final approval, how encouraging it is to
know that the Lord will indeed be with us in every
trouble, that he sympathizes with us in all of our trials,
adversities, afflictions, perplexities, etc., and that "behind
a frowning providence he hides a smiling face."
The waters of affliction, disappointment, perplexity,
trouble, will be about us, and we are not to float with
the current either, but are to endure hardness as good
soldiers.
But our source of strength in battling with
the current of life is never to be forgotten...the Lord
will pull us safely over to the other side, where we
shall have life, and that more abundantly, with the
glory, honor, and immortality which he will provide for
his bridehis elect. Z'07-171 R4005:1 (Hymn 93)
