[Songs in the Night - February 19]
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
WHILE prayer is a privilege and not a command,
our condition makes it a necessity.
Because of the
fall of man from his original perfection our flesh has
imperfections, frailties; and yet we, as new creatures,
have responsibility for these weaknesses.
The only
way to discharge these responsibilities is to go to the
throne of grace and there obtain help in time of need.
Whoever, therefore, goes frequently to the throne of
grace in prayer thus indicates that he recognizes the
necessity of using the opportunity which God has provided
in his interest and as his privilege. Z'13-84 R5201:5 (Hymn 162)
