HOW impossible it is for a child of God, remembering
and impressed by the events of the day, as to
the Lord's wisdom and care and the surety that all
things shall work for good—how impossible, we say,
for such a one to retire to rest without thankfulness
of heart to him upon whose power and promises they
have leaned throughout the day: and how appropriate
to bow the knee as well as the heart, to render homage
