[Songs in the Night - October 22]
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ. Ephesians 2:4, 5
HOW wonderful is this love of God and love of
Christ!
How impossible it seems for us to measure its
lengths and breadths and heights and depths!
Those
who have accepted the Lord as their Redeemer and
have entered into covenant relationship with him, giving
him their little all and accepting from him a participation
in all these blessings of his provisions, if
ever cast down because of weakness or opposition or
what not, should call to mind this great love which the
Father has for us and which the Son shares, the love
which not only redeemed us while we were yet sinners,
but which since then has called us to such wonderful
blessings and privileges, making us joint-heirs
with Christ our Lord, if so be we suffer with him. Z'05-139 R3553:5 (Hymn 296)
